Teaching Classes

In November 2019, I co-taught the class "Intro to Lightsaber Dueling and Spinning" for MIT SPLASH 2019.

Alongside my co-teacher Claire McClellan-Cassivi, we taught three sessions of high school students the basics of stage combat, choreography, and safe handling on combat-grade lightsaber replicas.

I am currently a TA for the popular toy product design class, 2.00b. As one of the elves making the magic behind the scenes for this high production value class, my tasks vary from testing out lab and lecture material, prepping the plushies for their moment to shine as a team mascot, being a lab instructor (go narwhals!), editing lecture videos, designing parts of the sketch and lab kits (see graphic design), and more!

6.A01 Mens Et Manus

As an Associate Advisor giving perspective on classes and life at MIT to incoming first-years, I was matched with Prof. Dennis Freeman to advise students interested in hands-on learning in engineering. This method of advising came with a 3-unit, 2 hour a week seminar guiding students through hands on projects.

In Fall 2020, this was done virtually, sending remote kits to students. In addition to my Associate Advising duties, I was offered to be a Lab Assistant to help students each week navigate Arduino (Teensy) programming tasks, circuit connections, and hours of debugging, ultimately culminating in a brushless motor project.

In Fall 2021 and 2022 this course returned to its in-person format with largely the same curriculum.

Illuminations Seminar TA In Fall 2022, I taught freshmen how to program blinky (individually addressable) lights in a pilot first year seminar on electronics and the dynamic light display in the MIT Welcome Center https://learn.illuminations.mit.edu/

MIT Women's Technology Program (wtp.mit.edu)

During Spring and Summer 2021, I worked with a team of undergraduate students led by a graduate student to develop a remote electrical engineering curriculum for high school girls. We taught and mentored a cohort of 20 rising juniors from around the country, creating a supportive and diverse community with a future in engineering.

6.810 Engineering Interactive Technologies

As a student Lab Assistant in Fall 2021 I both took the class for credit and became part of the teaching team for this class taught by the MIT HCIE lab (https://hcie.csail.mit.edu/). I specialized in debugging hardware and circuit issues in use with an ESP32 board as the class navigated the labs and homeworks, some of which are shown on the lab website and my portfolio.

6.070 Electronics Laboratory

As an undergraduate teaching assistant I led a pilot section of this intro to electronics class held in the McCormick (all-women) dorm on campus in Spring 2022. In addition to bonding with a small group of underclassmen, I managed their lab section focusing around intuitive circuit design. I held office hours and graded homework and labs along with other TAs.
